HIKING TRIPS ITINERARY
Day 1 "Travel day"
In the morning you will meet one of our pilots in Smithers and travel via floatplane, or wheel plane to the main lodge at Black lake. There you will have gourmet lunch prepared by our chef before your introduction to camp and gear. After you have selected your dried food for the trip, and picked up any specialty gear that you may have missed, you will have the opportunity to kick your feet up and relax before dinner. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, relax in our wood fired sauna or hottub before dinner. After another wonderful meal, you will pour over maps at the lodge of your intended route with your guide and make any personal modifications you would like.
Day 2-8 "Trekking days"
After an early breakfast you will fly out to a remote lake, which will be the starting point of your adventure!
Day 9 "Back to the Black Lake"
you will need to be at your pickup location, where a float plane will meet you in the afternoon. You will fly back to the main lodge and have an opportunity to relax and kick up your feet (guaranteed they will be sore!) All camp amenities are open to you- if you still have the energy, feel free to go for a swim or a coax a wrangler into giving you a quick trail ride on one of our trusty horses around camp. Enjoy a wonderful meal in the evening and sit in the hot tub, enjoying the canopy of stars up above.
Day 10 "Back to Smithers"
After brunch, you will board a float plane and return back to Smithers – where you can catch your connecting flight – or we will book you another night in a hotel.

What can you expect:
Expect to change your pace and disconnect from the outside world. Drink from crystal clear streams, hike peaks that few (if any) people have ever summited. Enjoy the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife: Caribou, moose, mountain goats, grizzly bears, wolves, wolverines, porcupines, ptarmigan, marmots, eagles, and more!
Each night you will enjoy time to look up at a vast canopy of stars and enjoy the quiet sounds of the wilderness – with the occasional wolf howl echoing through the valleys; be sure to ask your guides to teach you to call back to them!
Local stories and legends from our guides will be numerous as you traverse traditional first Nation travel routes and see the landscape as it has been, since time immemorial. Come as guests and leave as fellow travelers in this pristine wilderness.
ACCOMMODATION
Your accommodation during the trip will be in high quality tents, which will be carried on your backs, in order to maximize mobility and flexibility in routes. Feel free to bring your own tent, or use one of the various tents that we have on hand.

While travelling overland, you will carry the large majority of your food on your back. With the exception of an airplane food drop, containing a freshly baked pie at the mid-way point!
Freeze-dried food will be specially prepared by our chef on-site, and a variety of tasty options will be available (inquire here for menu options) – custom made food available upon request, with adequate notice. No commercial mountain-house on this trip!
A large variety of organic, keto/paleo friendly, and vegan granola bars and dried fruits will be available at the lodge. Your guide will show you how to identify local forage plants and you will be able to eat fresh edibles along the trail.
